Got To Dance has reached its end and the public have chosen their winner  – Congratulations to Akai!!!!

The finalists were: Emily, MJ Latin, The Box, Jukebox Juniors, Matthew Koon and Akai. With the final show half an hour longer the three acts with the highest votes would go through to dance again and be crowned the winner. You could feel the excitement and nerves in the studio just before Davina confirmed that the acts with the highest votes who were Jukebox Juniors, The Box and Akai. Matthew Koon had been a favourite for Kimberly and although he didn’t make it to last round, it was good to see that incorporated a prop stage piece into his performance.

Jukebox Juniors, The Box and Akai performed the same routine from the semi-finals to try and seal their place as the winner.  Judge Ashley Banjo performed with his group Diversity on the night, and while Diversity’s performance was being broadcasted, the public were phoning in. When voting lines closed, the three dance acts lined up on stage to find out who would become the Got To Dance winner, the judges holding hands for a moment at the judging panel, friends and family looking on proudly at their son, daughter or sibling from their seats. After what seemed an endless pause, Davina confirmed that 10-year old, Akai was the Got to Dance winner 2010 (not forgetting that he’d also won £100,000)!

Below is a review and pics from Stephen, who was at the “Candy” (Aggro Santos ft.Kimberly Wyatt) video shoot this week!

Stephen1

Ok so i went down to the shoot of Kimberly Wyatt’s new music video on tuesday that was being shot in London’s London Bridge area. And aswell as meeting all the lead dancers and meeting Kimberly herself, i got to be in the video! Obviously it could be edited in any way, but to my knowledge i have quite a big part! The video is being shot in all blue light neon colours, and at the end there is a big neon water fight! and i got chosen to be the 1 who starts the water fight off!

This is how it happens:
Im right in the camera, and then i get hit with a water bomb (which will look like kimberly threw it at me) then i look down, lift my top up, pull a water pistol out my jeans and start off this big water fight! haha

I also got given a neon hat by the stylist so im gonna stand out so you will all see me when the video is released!

Review: Got to Dance Live Semi-Final 3

Kim1Pictured above: Kimberly talking to fans in the Got To Dance studio

The third (and last) semi-final was assured to be a highly competitive round with performances from: Dance Dynamix, Fancy Feet, The Box, Eclipse, Unity Youth, and Akai.  Before the show went live, all the judges recorded a clip promoting the Got To Dance Final which will air on TV this week, Kimberly came out first and recorded two versions, the first she recorded saying she’d seen so many dancers perform with passion and to find out who will win tune into Sky1 HD on Sunday at 6pm, the second clip she recorded was pretty much the same but saying viewers should tune in “tomorrow” at 6pm (that to be shown the day before the final).

At 6pm, the show went live and Dance Dynamix kicked off the show with an energetic performance which Kim awarded a gold star. Although she is seen as the toughest judge Kim awarded more Gold stars than red which was no surprise since the performers delivered spectacular performances, but would have loved Unity Youth to have received 3 gold stars since their performance watching from the audience was high-energy and fun to watch, but with the rules of the show – the decision lies with the voting public!

Ballet Dancers, The Box didn’t fail to awe the judges and the crowd with their performance, their flexibility is jaw-dropping (CLICK HERE to watch their performance). Young breakdancer, Akai was the last to hit the stage and impressed the judges with his ‘pop and locking’ skills, another young and incredible talent (CLICK HERE to watch their performance). After votes were casted, it was announced that young Akai and the Box had made it to the Finals.

With the finalists being dominated by young dancers, it’s safe to say the £100,000 prize is going to set a great platform for a bright future(s). This Sunday, the Got To Dance winner will be crowned – wishing the best of luck to the finalists this week!!!
